The client is a global leader in B2C fast fashion e-commerce, focusing on affordable clothes, beauty, and lifestyle products. With nearly ten thousand new samples a day, there is a need to establish an accurate and convenient garment sample management system to track millions of garment samples and ensure garment QC is sampling with the correct garment version.
SUMMATION SOLUTIONS is proud to be appointed as their first RFID supplier, starting from sample management and simultaneously exploring usages in other operating procedures.
RFID application on Sample Management
Originally, the client only had a barcode system to track the inbound, outbound, and transfer progress of the garment samples. It was not easy to track the sample movements of bulk quantity orders, nor was it easy to identify the authenticity of those garment samples. Thievery and sample replacement through replicated barcodes were a common problem with returned samples.
Integrating SUMMATION SOLUTIONS’s RFID application into the client’s operation procedures has highly increased their accuracy and improved the organization of their sample management systems. Our one-stop IoT solution includes tailor-made printable iron-on RFID labels that can be applied to all types of fabric for garment identification, with customized RFID scanning devices developed to smooth out their search-and-pick and stocktaking processes.
With the advancement of our solution, sample details and quality become identifiable, and it is easy to re-examine sample accuracy during the return of the sample. Moreover, sample records are registered and organized in the system, making it convenient for the client to track sample history and inventory records.

Since the implementation of the RFID sample management system, there has been a massive improvement in garment sample inventory accuracy. The new garment sample management process demonstrates a huge reduction in human error and malpractice due to a lack of records compared with before, with sample traceability increased to nearly 100%. In addition, the rate of thievery has decreased significantly to nearly 0%, showing high effectiveness in reducing sample replacements committed through barcode replication. Our garment sample management solution has reduced the cost of lost samples and issues caused by human error during the sample management process. Moreover, having a detailed inventory record of samples also speeds up other operational processes. Next Step
Currently, SUMMATION SOLUTIONS is working on expanding to managing other assets for the client and eventually upgrading its supply chain through the application of RFID. The client is interested in adopting RFID solutions in their warehouse operations, such as RFID tagging all products, inbound and outbound, as well as inventory stocktaking.
